God has blessed my family and more..

Last week we got word that my cousin Marielle,15, had to postpone her kidney transplant and find a new donor because the live donor match that had looked promising was rejected at the last minute. It was found out that the donor has diabetes and it instantly cancelled him out from donating a kidney to her. Well 2 nights ago as I was sitting on the couch watching Lord of the Rings, I get a call from my mother. A kidney has been found for Marielle and that they are going to Philadelphia to due the transplant immediately. I started praying right away. I wish that I could have been there but due to my cold and driving to Philadelphia at 10 pm I had to stay home. Marielle had her 2 diseased kidneys removed and a new kidney put in. She is doing great so far. I am so thankful to God and to the family that donated their loved ones organs. My 15 year old cousin now has a chance to live again. This is no ordinary girl. She had a liver transplant at 9 months old and now a kidney transplant. She is a wonderful, caring person and is as sweet as sugar. I pray that the kidney continues to take and not reject and that in June she will be able to celebrate her Sweet Sixteen with her friends and family and not in a hospital room.
I ask of all my friends to pray for Marielle and her parents. They need strengh and courage to continue to face the challenges ahead. I thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.

I finally found time!

Well I finally found some time for a little scrapping and cardmaking. I went through some old photos and found two really cute photos of my son Frankie when he was only about a year old. Oh he was so cute. He is 12 now and likes when I say that he is handsome.

I played around with some leftover patterned paper and other scrapping goodies I have and threw this together within an hour. I wish the picture of this layout were better but I'm not a professional photographer and I'm lucky that it came out clear.

The second layout I made was for a challenge in the Artistic Papercrafting group over at Cafemom. I should have read the directions better because the layout was supposed to be "Holiday Themed". Whoops! Either way, I made this layout of my 2 brothers and me. I miss both of my brothers. I don't get to see them often. My brother Rob lives in NY and I last got to see him on Thanksgiving but due to his work schedule we were not able to see each other this Christmas. My to other brother Josh is in the Navy and is currently deployed somewhere near Dubai. I haven't seen him in over a year. I can't wait til he comes home in May. Well, I guess the pictures of my bro's will surfice.

The last thing I was able to make was a card for a challenge over at the Bella Sistah's group at PCP (Papercraftplanet.com). I just love Bella's and this was a new techinque, so I gave it a try. It is the spotlight techinque. Funny thing about this technique, it really helps to have the appropriate punches and I don't so I had to cut the circles freehanded. I used a penny to help determine the size. Way to be creative, I guess!

For this card I used the Blingabella stamp and the Twinkle, Twinkle sentiment stamp from www.stampingbella.com . I used a red copic marker for the dress and added some stickles on the "bling" to give it some sparkle!

Well everyone have a wonderful day and a great weekend! TTYL chickies!

A Very Merry..

The picture above was taken with my hubby's cell phone camera so it is not as bright as I would like it. Due to a cold that has decided to stay with me for the month of December I was not able to go into Manhattan and meet up with friends to see the tree. While shopping in Allentown, I parked near these 2 reindeers. They are so beautiful and at night they both light up.
I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy your family and friends and remember that it is the time spent with our loved ones that needs to be cherished not just the gifts we are given.

Have to share this.. I thought it was funny

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December.
Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.
We should've known…...
ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-ass man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

Ha!!
